Brittany Nicole Ray

Brittany Nicole Ray, at the early age of 31, was taken away from her family and friends on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at her home in Washington County Maryland. Brittany was born on October 11, 1994, to Kevin Woodrow Ray and Kimberly Sue in Gaithersburg, Maryland. She attended Frederick Christian Academy for grades one through six and was a member of Clear Spring High School graduating class of 2012. Brittany went on to attend West Virginia University and earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology. Several years later Brittany would further her education and obtain her Master’s in Business Administration. Brittany was an avid reader and league pool player. Other interests included music, cooking, watching movies / series, and trying local restaurants. Above all else, Brittany was a caring, trusting, individual almost to a fault. Our family would like to extend a deep appreciation to all the Firefighters, Fire Investigators, Police Officers, and Detectives who assisted and are currently working to see that justice is served. As a family, we will be forever grateful for the support and kindness shown. She is survived by son, Colton James Gardiner; brothers Andrew and Jacob Ray [GF Lillian Stottlemyer]; and parents, Kevin and Kimberly Ray. She was also survived by her best friends, Shelby Lewis and Kelsey Long, and numerous other friends, acquaintances, and family. Instead of a “traditional” service, a Celebration of Life will be held after the first of the year (location and time TBD). In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in her name to your local Animal Shelter or reputable Christian Charity. Roy W. Barber Funeral Home is assisting the family with her cremation.
