Anne Coor Obituary

Anne Patricia Coor of Olney, MD passed away at home on February 17th, after an extended illness.  She is proceeded in death by her beloved husband of over 44 years, George Thomas Coor, who passed in 1999. Anne was cherished and adored by her children, Linda Coor DeMoss, Laurie Coor Jones, Lisa Jean Coor, and John Thomas Coor.  She was a loving “Neena”/grandmother to Thomas, Bryan, Christine, Meridith, Samantha and Sidney, and loving great grandmother to Seretha, Michael, Sawyer, Scarlett, Madelyn, Henry, Natalia, Ariana, Levi and Austin. Still surviving are her much loved sisters-in-law, Cindy and June, and nieces, Anne Marie, Melanie and Joyce.  She shared many special trips and moments with her niece, Joyce, who shared a special bond of enjoying travel and shows.  She was proceeded in death by her brother, John, nephew John, and family members, Buster and Dottye.  Also proceeding her were very special friends that she greatly missed, John and Anna Kenney, and Irv and Rosemary Oxenburg.  They were all, certainly, a very loving and welcoming group to be waiting for her to arrive in heaven.

Anne was for many years a very active member of St. Peter’s Parish, and for over 50 years was a managing secretary for Radcliffe Insurance and Real Estate.  Anne lived her life making family and friends her greatest priority.  She was a central part of so many family milestones like birthdays, graduations, weddings and she rarely missed a game or dance recital.  Anne loved playing cards with her best friends for many years, Anita, Joanne, Harriett and Sarah, and her longtime friend, Iris, took her on many bus trips to casinos, and to one of her favorite things, the Rockettes Christmas Show. Her daughter, Lisa Jean was renowned for a weekly casino trip to WV and giving the family the blow-by-blow details of how she won.  For many years, she looked forward to a yearly trip with her sister-in-law, Cindy to go see her other sister-in-law Dottye and of course, hit the local casinos in MS.  Anne was known for a lovely and always welcoming home, a yard abundant in flowers and manicured lawn, and for her delicious cooking, most especially her fried chicken.

Most of all, Anne loved life, and fought valiantly to stay with us.  She was a testament to strength, especially the last few months, and passed away with the love, grace and goodness that were always in her heart.  For family and friends, Anne is part of so many memories and through these precious memories, we keep her part of our lives always.

Anne's favorite charity was St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. A donation may be made in her name at http://www.stjude.org.
