Pearl Richardson
Althea Pearl (Kidd) Richardson, 63, of Mount Airy, MD, beloved wife, and mother, passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022.
She was born February 11, 1958, in Bethesda, MD, daughter of the late Pauline Roberts.
She was the soul mate and adored wife of her prince charming, Nelson I. Richardson, Sr. for 47 years and a devoted lifelong homemaker and caregiver to her family and she was an earthly angel and a caring, compassionate friend to all who knew her. She enjoyed cooking and baking with her grandchildren, her hobby; playing bingo, and was a collector of anything “Owls”. Among all, she was a “peacemaker” for God who taught forgiveness and unity was always the answer.
Surviving, in addition to her husband Nelson, are her children, Nelson Richardson, Jr. (Holley), Joseph Richardson, Sr. (Shana), Rebecca Richardson (Brian) and Catherine Moore (Ryan); 16 grandchildren, Amber Cooper (Cory), Austin Richardson (Jessika), Shelby Orndorff, Victoria Richardson, Trey Vorhees, Joseph Richardson, Jr., Conner Murphy, Shyanne Richardson, Alexander Richardson, Sophia Richardson, Waylon Richardson, Joshua Mills, Ashley Priest, Megan Priest, Madison Moore and Lyla Moore; and 4 great grandchildren, Eva Cooper, Terry Cooper, Emmaleigh Richardson and Rebecca Richardson. She is also survived by her sister, Ann Kenney (Jay); brother Kenny Kidd; and nieces, who were considered daughters, Linda Kulesza (Mike) and Lori Kidd. 6 sisters-in-law, 5 brothers-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Pauline Roberts, stepfather Basil Roberts, mother-in-law Sylvia Rippeon, father-in-law Roger Rippeon, father-in-law Bill Richardson, brothers, William Kidd Jr., and Manuel Kidd, sister Susan Sullivan, and brother-in-law Harvey Richardson
She was a member of Locust Grove Church of the Brethren.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 3, 2022, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Roy W. Barber Funeral Home, 21525 Laytonsville Road, Laytonsville, MD 20882 where funeral services will be held Friday, February 4, 2022, at 11 a.m. Interment to follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, 9501 Catoctin Mountain Hwy, Frederick, MD 21701.
