Adell Joanne Milne (née Browning) of Bethesda, Maryland was born at Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, DC to Margaret Adell and Albert Warren Browning on November 17, 1941. She had one sister, Carole Derrick, and four children, Robert, Andrew, Joanne, and Jennifer. She has 8 grandchildren: Anna, Aiden, Bryce, Ethan, Tyler, Rachael, Nathan, and Maggie.
Adell attended East Silver Spring and Sherwood Elementary Schools and graduated from Sherwood High School in 1959. She worked at the National Institutes of Health until 1964, when she continued her education at Towson Teachers College (now Towson University), where she graduated in 1967. She was employed by Montgomery County Public Schools at Weller Road Elementary School and Viers Mill Elementary School from 1967 through 1970. After raising her children, she returned to Viers Mill Elementary School in 1987, where she taught first and second grade. She retired in 2007. She was an active member of Saint Mark Presbyterian Church in Rockville, Maryland. She is survived by three of her children Robert, Joanne, and Jennifer, and all of her grandchildren.
A small service for friends and family will take place at St. Mark Presbyterian Church in Rockville, MD on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at 11 am for those who would like to attend.
