Lester "Shorty" L. Walker

 

Mr. Lester L. Walker "Shorty", 92, of Gaithersburg, MD died at his home with his loving family by his side on October 24, 2018. He was preceded in death by his late wife, Doris Ann Walker and his parents. 

Shorty was in th U.S. Navy and active in World War II and Korean War from 1942 to 1952.

He is survived by his daughters, Nancye Sanders of Florida, Ruthie Rawlings of Frederick, Frances Zarr of Gaithersburg, and Arvella Musselman of Mt. Airy; five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 from 11am to 12pm at the Roy W. Barber Funeral home, 21525 Laytonsville Rd., Laytonsville, MD 20882, where funeral services will be held at 12pm. Interment will follow at Forest Oak Cemetery in Gaithersburg, MD.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice JSSA, 200 Wood Hill Rd., Rockville, MD 20850.

Artie and Family,

Our family is deeply saddened by the loss of your Dad. We know all to well that losing a loved one is certainly difficult. I am going to miss that feisty, fun guy. Shorty lived life under his own rules. I know he will be missed by all who had the pleasure of being in his world. My thoughts and much love goes out to all the Walker sisters. Prayers of comfort and peace to each and every one of you. Love, Dawn
