Howard Walter McElroy, Jr., 66, passed away at his home on April 18, 2018. Howard was a dutiful son, professional artist, sailor, in the Merchant Marines and the USN, and husband. Many businesses and homes in the tri-state area display Howard’s designs and works of art.

Howard believed to have friends, you must first be a friend. He extended the hand of friendship, positively touching lives wherever he went, from clerks at the 7-11 to presidents of companies.

He proudly served in the United States Navy. He attributed his experiences, during his years of service in the Vietnam War, to the development of his strength of character that sustained him in the remaining years of his life.

His creativity, joy and love will surely be missed by all who knew him.

Howard’s mother, Barbara Kelly, and his father, Howard Walter McElroy, Sr. Ret, USN, preceded him in death. He is survived by:
his loving wife of 33 years, Beverly; his stepmother, Lois McElroy; sisters Cheri Rappatoni, Donna Cadle, and brother Greg McElroy from Harpers Ferry, WV; brothers: Scott McElroy; Duncan McElroy; and Harold McElroy, from Frederick, MD; sister Susan Polito, from Tom’s River, NJ; brother Joseph Kelly, from Davie, FL; sister Theresa Nichols, from Barnegat Bay, NJ;  aunt Lois Smith, from Elmer, NJ and cousins, nieces and nephews.

What a great picture of Howard, sure looks like the professional he is. I wish I could have been in his presence more than a few times. He served our Country, and I salute him. See you in Heaven. Praying for you Bev.
