Thomas S. Dickerson

Thomas Stewart Dickerson of Olney, Maryland passed away peacefully on February 15, 2019 after his long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Tom was born on May 3rd 1947, in Washington D.C. to the late Paul and Marie (Hall) Dickerson. Tom a life-long parishioner of Saint Mary’s in Rockville and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a proud graduate from Our Lady of Good Counsel High School, where he played football, basketball, and ran track. He graduated in 1966, but remained a dedicated Falcon for life. His life-long passion for sports lead him to coaching youth football in the RFL and at Our Lady of Good Counsel High School.

He loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He treasured his time golfing, being near the water, sport fishing in the Atlantic Ocean, and hunting on the Potomac River. He will be most remembered for his commitment and dedication to his family, friends, and coaching. He was known for having a heart of gold and always put others before himself.

Tom is survived by his wife of almost 50 years: Andrea (King) Dickerson; Father of Todd Dickerson, Kyle Dickerson, and Ashley Dickerson; Father-in-law to Margaret Dickerson (Todd’s wife); Grandfather of Kyley, Makayla, Trent, Payton, Reese, and Addison Dickerson.Brother to Theresa Rickhy and Deborah Durham.

Friends may visit at Barbers Funeral home on Monday, February 25, 2019 from 6:00-8:00 pm. A mass of Christian burial will be offered at St. Mary’s Catholic in Rockville, Maryland, located at 520 Veirs Mill Road, Rockville, MD 20852, on Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at 10am.
