Dorothy L. Boxall Ratliff

Dorothy Lee Ratliff of McConnellsburg, PA and formerly of Gaithersburg, MD passed on to her heavenly home on September 28, 2019. She had been a resident of Magnolias of Chambersburg Memory Care Unit since September 2016.

Dorothy was born June 22, 1937 at Redlands, Montgomery County, MD to John Thomas Boxall and Blanche Virginia Whitmer Boxall.

Dorothy married Raymond B. Ratliff of Olney, Montgomery County, MD on June 30, 1954. After her retirement from Sprague Electronics in Rockville, MD they moved permanently to McConnellsburg, PA. Her husband predeceased her on February 6, 2019, where he had resided also at Magnolias of Chambersburg since May 12, 2018.

Dorothy was an avid reader, loved country music, especially Marty Robbins. She loved to water ski and was very good at it.

Dorothy is survived by one sister, Bernice Allen and one brother, James Boxall, Sr., both of Gaithersburg, MD. Three sisters, Shirley Yankey, Edith Hadaway, and Louise Yankey and one brother, Thomas J. Boxall, Jr. predeceased her. Her parents John Thomas Boxall, Sr. and Blanche Virginia Boxall also predeceased her.

Relatives and friends may visit on Saturday, October 5, 2019 from 10am to 11am at the Roy W. Barber Funeral Home, 21525 Laytonsville Rd., Laytonsville, MD 20882, where funeral services will be held at 11am. Interment will follow at St. Luke's Cemetery in Derwood, MD.
