Charles Daniel Falck, 82, of Brookeville, MD, passed away on November 1, 2019, at Casey House, Rockville, MD. Born on May 16, 1937, son of the late Harry Daniel and Grace Sophia (Herb) Falck. Charles was a graduate of Mahanoy Joint High School in Dalmatia, PA. He served on Active Duty in the US Army from 1957-1959. Upon discharge from the Army, he was employed at General Motors in Wilmington, DE. He was then employed as Branch Manager at American Finance Corporation in Bel Air, MD from 1960-1967. He transferred to the Washington, DC area and was employed as Vice President of Rediscount Corporation until 1979 at which time he accepted the position of Vice President of Perpetual Bank. In 1984, he served as Executive Vice President of Washington Federal Savings Bank until 1991. In 1992, until his retirement in 1998, he worked as a Realtor Associate at Prudential Preferred Properties. He was a member of The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Olney, MD. Charles was actively involved in his community through volunteer work with Kiwanis and the MGH Thrift Shop. He was a Charter Member of the Kiwanis Club of Olney, holding positions of President and Director. He served as Lieutenant Governor of Division 17, Capital District – Kiwanis International from 1989-1990.
Charles is survived by his wife of 58 years, Dolores E. (Gotshall) Falck, son Gregory C. Falck and his wife Lori, grandson Alexander G. Falck, granddaughter, Danielle M. Falck, sisters Ruth Ann Artz, Jean M. Runkle (Ernest), and brother Larry Falck (Susana) along with numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother Glenn H. Falck, sister Arlene J. Deiter and two brothers-in-law, Russell Deiter and Franklin (Doc) Artz.
Friends and family may call on Thursday, November 14, 2019, from 6-8 PM at Roy W. Barber Funeral Home, 21525 Laytonsville Road, Laytonsville, MD. Memorial service at The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 4200 Olney- Laytonsville Road, Olney, MD on Friday, November 15, 2019 at 11:00 AM.
