Joyce Lucille Kidwell, 85, of Frederick, MD passed away on August 2, 2017, daughter of the late James D. and Ann C. Drain and loving wife of the late Charles "Doc" Kidwell. A diligently hard worker, Joyce retired from Holiday Tyler Printing, GAU Local 285, Homewood Retirement Center, and Way Station Inc. She is fondly remembered for her compassionate heart- there was not a person or animal in need that she did not help. Joyce met all with open arms; she had no acquaintances in her life, but rather every person became an instant friend. Her feisty spirit and unyielding honesty was unmatched and her strength throughout the many hurdles in her life continues to inspire all who knew her.

Dearly loved and survived by her five children; Jillian Miles of Frederick, MD, Rick Miles (Doris) of Germantown, MD, Brian Miles (Peggy) of Rockville, MD, Katrina "Dubie" Wright (Ronnie) of Frederick, MD, and Kimberley Webb (David) of Frederick, MD. Also survived by three stepchildren, Mary McKinnon (Eddie) of Pennsylvania, Michael Kidwell (Joyce) of Georgia, and Margie Kidwell of Germantown, MD, as well as 17 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Gloria Graves of Olney, MD. She also leaves behind a cousin by blood, sister by choice Dolly Rau of Mt. Airy, MD. Predeceased by her son, Keith A. Miles and two great-grandchildren Maria and Jonah Wolford.
Lastly, survived by Maddie- her companion and four-legged Protector Pit that she spoiled every day who will remain in the family.

Relatives and friends may visit on Monday, August 7, 2017 from 7pm to 9pm at the Roy W. Barber Funeral Home, 21525 Laytonsville Rd., Laytonsville, MD 20882, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at 11am. Interment will follow the service at Parklawn Cemetery in Rockville, MD. Donations may be made to Hospice of Frederick County, 516 Trail Ave., Frederick, MD 21701 (www.hospiceoffrederick.org) or to ASPCA (www.aspca.org/donate).

I am heart broken. Joyce was a wonderful, strong and loving woman. She would never let anyone go with out a place to lay their head or food to eat. She touched the hearts of everyone she knew. Momma Joyce you will be missed and will always be in our hearts.
I love you and miss you. Now dance with Doc on the clouds.

May the soul of Joyce Lucille Kidwell through the mercy of God rest in perfect peace. Dubie my dear friend. Take heart in reading 2 Timothy 4:7
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
We should remember that mom truly fought a good fight and she kept her faith in the Lord.
Adieu Mom.

My heart aches ... shattered ... I know in time will mend.
Miss Joyce and my mother were two extraordinary women ... strong ... resilient ... loving ... compassionate ... honorable ... humorous ...

Always stylish, always authentic, always inspiring!

I love her dearly ... my love to the family ... peace!

To Kim my best friend and my second family.
My heart is broken. Mom always had a hug and kiss and always said where are you girls going. She treated me as if I were one of her own and that was my greatest gift I could have ask'ed for . I know she is looking down on all of us with a warm smile and Dad on her arm.
I will forever miss her and I will carry her in my heart always.

Jill and family,
Your mother was a HOTMESS! I loved the times I got to talk with her and pray with her. I loved the stories Jill would share we me on our way to work and back home. She truly was and still is a beautiful lady and mother. Your mom put up a good fight that's for sure! Now mom is healed and singing praises to her Savior Lord Jesus and walking the roads of gold with Him and her husband. Jill, I love you dearly and if you need me your know where I work. LOL

Love you all and God Bless!

My Dear Kim and family. I want to express my deepest sympathy for your mom passing away. She was a woman with a beautiful spirit and a loving and caring air about her. Every time I was around her. If it was her birthday, Thanksgiving day, or any day for that matter. We always had great conversation, she always had a warm way of making me feel so part of her life and her families. Always leaving me with a smile and feeling wanted. From what I know she had a way about her to do that to alot of people. So the last time I saw her we said we would pray for one another and to always have the Good Lord always in our hearts. So everyone please rejoice, smile and be happy to know the Good Lord has blessed her with a wonderful life.
